Henry has over 12 years of experience in real estate investing. He started his career as an officer in the U.S. Navy where he served as the Navigator and Boarding Officer on the USS UNDERWOOD(FFG-36). He was selected to serve as the Officer in Charge of Riverine Squadron Three, Detachment 1. After multiple combat tours to Iraq and across the globe in the Navy, Henry joined the investment firm Samuel James Limited in Baltimore, MD, where the firm managed several private investments in both the public and private sectors. Henry is also the Founder and Managing Partner of his construction company and property management company.
He is also very successful football coach. Henry's team at St Frances Academy was ranked top 5 in the nation, and became the subject of HBO's 2019 Docuseries "The Cost of Winning.”
Henry is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and is the proud father of his three young daughters Riley, Finley, & Channing, and married to his amazing bride Erin.
Dom Ewers leads the team through all stages of operations from construction management, property management, and financial management.
Dom was a collegiate wrestler and U.S. Naval Academy graduate, and recently retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years of active-duty service. He completed multiple combat deployments, including a tour in Iraq. He finished his two-decade career as a Commanding Officer for the largest aviation logistics unit in the Corps with over 800 personnel under his command.
Working closely with Henry, Dom has overseen construction projects totaling $20M and is responsible for the day in and day out operations of the $100M + portfolio of RFC acquired and personally managed over $3 million in multifamily and short-term rental properties.
Dom is well-versed in life-cycle logistics, constraint theory, and holds a Master of Science Degree from the University of San Diego in Global Leadership.
Mackey has 11 years of commercial real estate experience, mostly with JLL. He changed course in 2015 by buying and growing a technology business and later exiting to a private equity firm. He joined RFC in 2021, first as an investor, then full time to leverage his experience in scaling a company. Mackey is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he was a member of the lacrosse team.
Char Salazar is Chief of Staff. She has over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurial environments with expertise across several functions including operations, business and financial planning, project management, budgeting/forecasting, marketing and legal affairs. With a background strongly anchored in business strategy and team building, Char has a foundation in finance and extensive experience in organizational strategy and development, documenting and implementing processes and procedures for both new and established firms. Since joining RFC Capital, Char plans and directs the administrative, operational and financial activities for the team, organizing and prioritizing tasks, critical issues and analyzing financial and property data for executive leadership to facilitate decision making and operational and acquisitions planning and resource allocation. Char previously designed and authored social media, web and collateral content, and since joining our team she is creating our investor presentations and designing our new marketing pieces and drafting and proofing all other company communication for distribution and publication. Char attended the University of California, San Diego where she graduated with honors, earning her Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Sociology Minor.
Lauren serves as the Director of Finance and Administration. She has experience across several business segments and leverages both management and sales versatility to deliver results that drive rapid organizational growth. She is exceptionally process oriented with a drive to optimize efficiency by creating processes and systems that improve productivity. In her previous roles, Lauren has extensive experience supporting high-profile executives in various industries, including the CFO to Tony Robbins. Lauren is a graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Education. Originally from Washington state, Lauren currently resides in San Diego where she enjoys spending time with her kids, skiing, golfing, and playing tennis.
Derek Czarkowski brings 17 years of commercial real estate experience and over $2B in transaction volume.
He has worked with a full spectrum of investor clients from high net-worth to institutional in every region nationally from east to west.
Derek began his career as a senior analyst for a national portfolio of multifamily communities totaling 30,000+ units and 300+ staff. He achieved a 20% ROI on the $50mm+ of value-add asset improvements completed during tenure. Derek is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
Kristen Kenney also known as KK comes from a 15-year broadcasting career that took her around the globe from covering the London Olympics, and Russia's World University Games to spending five years as the sideline reporter for the NBA's Utah Jazz. Kristen is passionate about financial freedom and independence for women. In an effort to diversify her income, she founded PEAK|45 fitness studio in Utah which has expanded to four locations.
She joined RFC Capital to lead Investor Relations and Communications because she believes in the financial freedom of real estate investing. Unlike most industries, there is no glass ceiling in real estate. Kristen is a graduate of the University of Miami.
